Phase is the position of a point in time on a waveform cycle.
Phase shift is any change that occurs in the phase of one quantity, or in the phase difference between two or more quantities.
Phase Shift Room Edition is the second part in an installation series that deals with phase shift applied to video. Five movable cameras and five monitors are placed in a room with furniture, various objects and markers. Cameras are controlled by a computer so that they always pointing at the same point in space. The movement of cameras from point to point is phase shifted – their motion is delayed. Over time they travel from one object or marker to the other, performing a semi randomized score.
