Ana Pečar (1977) is a video and intermedia artist. She is active as an organizer of public events, through which she communicates artistic and collective currents. She obtained her formal education at the University of Maribor and the Corcoran School of Art (Washington, US) and gained additional skills in numerous workshops and residencies. She mainly works as an artist to use this position as a tool to penetrate beyond constructed reality as it appears to exist in this space and time. Her work suggests the trajectory of humanity not as a continuous advancement, but as an endless return to basic nature. Ana Pečar is currently devoted to the research of the legacy that has been preserved up to the twentieth century in remote parts of Slovenia through oral tradition. This is how she relativises the unconditional system of values we have found ourselves in.
